Bangladesh's FDI rises over 5 pct from July to October

DHAKA, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Bangladesh increased 5.36 percent year-on-year during July-October period of 2019-20 fiscal year (July 2019-June 2020), the central bank data showed Tuesday.

The Bangladesh Bank (BB) data showed that in the first four months of the current 2019-20 fiscal year, gross FDI inflows were recorded at 1,652 million U.S. dollars against 1,568 million U.S. dollars in the same period a year earlier.

According to the BB statistics, net FDI inflow in the country from July to October this year stood at 881 million U.S. dollars against 841 million U.S. dollars in the same period a year earlier.

Net FDI inflow in the country from 2018-19 fiscal year stood at 2,540 million U.S. dollars against 1,778 million U.S. dollars in the same period a year earlier.
