SEOUL, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- South Korean President Moon Jae-in's approval rating rose this week on a positive effect from the summit between the leaders of China, South Korea and Japan, a weekly poll showed Thursday.

According to the Realmeter survey, support for Moon gained 0.7 percentage points over the week to 48.3 percent this week.

The negative assessment on Moon's management of state affairs slipped 0.6 percentage points to 47.4 percent.

The pollster attributed the higher support score to the trilateral summit between the leaders of China, South Korea and Japan that was held in China's southwestern city of Chengdu earlier this week.

Support for Moon's ruling Democratic Party rose 1.4 percentage points over the week to 41.3 percent this week.

The main conservative opposition Liberty Korea Party won 31.7 percent of support rate this week, up 0.8 percentage points from the previous week.

The minor progressive Justice Party had 5.7 percent of support, followed by the minor conservative Bareun Future Party with 4.0 percent, the far-right Our Republican Party with 1.7 percent and the center-left Party for Democracy and Peace with 1.0 percent each.

The results were based on a poll of 1,505 voters conducted from Monday to Tuesday. It had plus and minus 2.5 percentage points in margin of error with a 95-percent confidence level.
