BERLIN, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- Following the closure of the stock exchange for Christmas, German stocks opened slightly higer on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index gaining 37.84 points, or 0.28 percent, to 13,338.32 points.
Dialysis specialist Fresenius Medical Care among Germany's 30 largest listed companies led stocks higher, registering a 2.08-percent hike. Sportswear manufacturer Adidas increased by 0.93 percent and energy company E.ON was up 0.80 percent.
Shares of Deutsche Telekom, Germany's largest telecommunications company, fell by 0.33 percent.
The euro was trading slightly higher at 1.1133 U.S. dollars on Friday morning, increasing by 0.33 percent.
