GHAZNI, Afghanistan, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) -- Government forces have managed to release eight security personnel, including army and police, from a Taliban detention center in the eastern Ghazni province, said an army statement released here Saturday.
Afghan Commandos launched a special operation late on Friday night in Qarabagh district's Moshaki area breaking into the detention center of the Taliban militants and set free eight security personnel, the statement asserted.
"Four army personnel, two national policemen and two local policemen have been released as a result of the operation," the statement added.
Taliban militants have yet to make comment.
