Malaysia's producer price index rebounds in November

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia producer price index rose 1.2 percent year-on-year in November, the first positive annual change after declining for twelve consecutive months since November 2018.

Malaysian Statistics Department said in a statement Tuesday, the index of agriculture, forestry and fishing recorded the highest growth rate, increasing 19.9 percent in the month.

This was followed by mining index which expanded 6.4 percent; electricity and gas supply indices that accelerated 0.6 percent.

The water supply and manufacturing indices, however, declined 2.3 percent and 0.7 percent respectively.

On a monthly basis, the producer price for local production rose 1.3 percent in November, driven by growth in agriculture, forestry and fishing, mining and water supply indices.
