Vietnam's state budget collection up 8.7 pct in 2019

HANOI, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam posted a budget collection of 1,549.5 trillion Vietnamese dong (67.4 billion U.S. dollars) in 2019, up 8.7 percent year-on-year, the Ministry of Finance said on Friday.

Domestic revenue, which accounted for 82 percent of the country's total budget, increased 100.2 trillion Vietnamese dong (4.4 billion U.S. dollars), or 8.5 percent, while revenue from import-export activities, accounting for 13.9 percent, grew 25.3 trillion Vietnamese dong (1.1 billion U.S. dollars), or 13.4 percent from 2018, according to the ministry.

Vietnam's budget deficit in 2019 was 3.4 percent of gross domestic product compared to the 3.7 percent target set for the year.

Vietnam aims to have state budget collection of 1,512.3 trillion Vietnamese dong (65.8 billion U.S. dollars) this year, according to a resolution on the state budget passed by the National Assembly last year.
