7 arrested over drug production, sale in Albania

TIRANA, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- Albanian police arrested 7 people for drug production and sale in a police operation in the capital city of Tirana, police said in a statement on Saturday.

According to the statement, the police operation code-named "Transit" was conducted by the Narcotics Investigation Section in Tirana Police Directorate in cooperation with the special police forces.

The 7 arrested, aged from 32 to 52, are accused of criminal offense of "production and sale of narcotics."

During the operation, police also seized 32.5 kg of cannabis narcotic substances, 6 mobile phones and 2 vehicles.
