ALGIERS, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- Leaders of Algeria's two leading political parties on Wednesday vehemently criticized U.S. President Donald Trump's Middle East peace plan, also known as the "Deal of the Century."
Azzedine Mihoubi, leader of the Democratic National Rally (RND), the second largest bloc in the Algerian parliament, said the deal was nothing but a "plot announced most brazenly at the expense of an unarmed people and usurped lands".
Mihoubi tweeted that the deal will end up in failure, just like previous deals, adding a solution based on keeping away the Palestinian people and tampering with their rights is not going to be viable.
Meanwhile, Abdel-Razzaq al-Maqri, leader of the Movement of Society for Peace, the third largest power in parliament, affiliated to the Muslim Brotherhood group, said on his Twitter account that the deal is a "slap by agents who retain their power in office through capitulation and treachery".
Trump, in a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, had announced on Tuesday his plan for peace in the Middle East.
