Drunk Russian passenger forces plane to make emergency landing: reports

MOSCOW, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- A passenger plane with some 200 people on board made an emergency landing here after a passenger, who appeared to be intoxicated, threatened to blow herself up, Russian news agencies reported.

RIA Novosti news agency quoted a spokesperson of the S7 airline as saying that during its Simferopol-Moscow flight, one of the passengers stood up in the aisle of the aircraft and announced that she had an explosive device.

According to the instructions, the aircraft commander reported the incident to Domodedovo airport and made an emergency landing there, the spokesperson said.

A spokesperson for Domodedovo airport told RIA Novosti that the airport's security services were carrying out the procedures necessary in such incidents, without giving other details.

TASS quoted an unnamed source as saying that the woman has been detained and no explosive devices were found on her, adding that 195 people who were on board left the aircraft. According to the source, an inquiry has been launched into the incident.
