LISBON, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- Portuguese tourism governing body, Turismo de Portugal, on Friday launched a campaign to promote wine tourism in foreign markets, with an investment of 500,000 euros, Lusa News Agency reported.

The campaign, mainly aimed at the digital environment, consists of six videos associating Portuguese wines and wine tourism with art, culture, architecture and music.

"The idea is that the videos are used in all campaigns, all over the world. We campaign in 21 countries, which are our main markets, but we reach more than 160 countries because the videos or excerpts are used in digital campaigns," Luis Araujo, president of Turismo de Portugal, was quoted as saying.

The campaign, part of a program for wine tourism launched at the Lisbon Tourism Fair in 2019, has an investment of around 500,000 euros for all markets and should extend beyond 2020.

The six videos plan to target 170 million people and aim to appeal to markets with a greater appetite for wine tourism product, such as the UK, Germany, Spain, the United States, Brazil and Canada.
