5.8-magnitude quake hits 49km W of Amatignak Island, Alaska -- USGS

BEIJING, March 2 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 jolted 49km W of Amatignak Island, Alaska at 00:31:16 GMT on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 29.47 km, was initially determined to be at 51.176 degrees north latitude and 179.8093 degrees west longitude.
