KAMPALA, March 5 (Xinhua) -- The head coach of Uganda's national football team has summoned a 20-man squad for training ahead of their Group B 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against South Sudan.
The Ugandan Cranes will host South Sudan on March 28 before an away leg on March 31.
"We must prepare well to be able to pick maximum points to maintain our lead on the table in the group. I have included some new players and will also have five more among players featuring in the Uganda Premier League," head coach Jonathan McKinstry said on Thursday.
Uganda tops Group B ahead of Mali on goal differential as both teams have four points. Malawi Flames are in third position with three points, while South Sudan is yet to get a point.
The best two teams from each group will qualify for the 2021 AFCON, to take place in Cameroon.
