JAKARTA, March 21 (Xinhua) -- Timor-Leste has recorded the first confirmed case of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the country's Vice Minister of Health Elia dos Reis Amaral said in a statement on Saturday.
Amaral said that authorities are conducting contact tracing measures following the case confirmation.
Timor-Leste, with a population of around 1.2 million, has started prohibiting foreign visitors from entering the country since Thursday, a move aiming at preventing the COVID-19 virus from spreading in the country. The decision is effective for two weeks.
