ACCRA, March 22 (Xinhua) -- Ghana is set to close all of its passenger entry points from Sunday midnight as part of enhanced measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, said President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

In a televised address late Saturday, the president said that the international passenger traffic by air, sea and road will be suspended for two weeks.

Excluding those carrying cargo and drug supplies, no flights would be allowed into the country, and any traveler who had entered the country prior to the travel ban would undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine.

"We must do everything in our power to turn this situation around," he said, urging everyone to comply with each of the measures the government has introduced.

Ghana has reported 21 cases with one death as of Saturday.
