ULAN BATOR, March 27 (Xinhua) -- Multiple earthquakes have jolted the western Mongolian province of Govi-Altai in recent days, local media reported on Friday, citing the country's Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (IAG).
A 3.7-magnitude earthquake occurred 22 km south of Biger soum (district) of Govi-Altai province at 3:25 a.m. Friday (1925 GMT Thursday), while another 4.1-magnitude one struck 29 km to the southeast of Tonkhil soum of the province more than an hour later, the IAG said.
On Thursday evening, a 3.9-magnitude earthquake also struck Tonkhil soum, it said.
Four quakes measuring 3.6, 4.1, 4.5 and 5.8 on the Richter scale were registered in the territory of the province on March 20, according to the IAG.
In addition, a 4.5-magnitude earthquake hit the province on Tuesday.
All quakes were felt by residents, but no damage has been reported.
