Brunei reports 2 new case of COVID-19, 133 in total

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Brunei reported 2 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing the country's total to 133 cases.

According to Brunei's Ministry of Health, case 132 is a previous patient's close contact who initially tested negative on March 24 but developed symptoms on March 30, while case 133 returned from Britain via Singapore on April 1.

Four more patients have recovered, bringing the total recovered cases to 56. Three patients are still in critical condition and require respiratory assistance at the Intensive Care Unit at the National Isolation Center, where one of them requires Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) assistance. The rest are in a stable condition.

The ministry also stated that so far, a total of 451 individuals are undergoing quarantine, 1,858 people have completed the quarantine period and 7,055 laboratory tests for COVID-19 have been conducted.
