ADDIS ABABA, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- The death toll of a collision between a minibus and and a military truck in Ethiopia's northern Amhara regional state has risen to 18, state media reported on Saturday.
The accident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, initially leaving 14 dead while 12 others injured.
The toll rose after four of the seriously injured succumbed to their injuries, state-affiliated Fana Broadcasting Corporate (FBC) said.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
Though Ethiopia has one of the lowest per capita car ownership in the world, deadly traffic accidents are fairly common, with the blame put on bad roads, flawed driving license issuance system and lax enforcement of safety rules.
