TUNIS, July 9 (Xinhua) -- The repercussions of the coronavirus pandemic could cost Tunisia over 1.76 billion U.S. dollars, Tunisian Finance Minister Mohamed Nizar Yaiche said on Thursday.
In a video posted on the ministry's Facebook page, Yaiche stressed that Tunisia's public finances are currently facing a very delicate situation. The public deficit will exceed 3 percent of the country's GDP.
In order to get out of the crisis, Yaiche put the priority to implementing "an economic rescue plan aiming at achieving the country's economic recovery."
"To do so, it will be necessary to improve the business and investment climate in Tunisia, and particularly, the political scene," he concluded. Enditem
