OUAGADOUGOU, April 8 (Xinhua) -- Am ambush on a transport vehicle by unidentified gunmen left two dead on Thursday in Oudalan province, the northern Sahel region in Burkina Faso, a security source told Xinhua in the capital Ouagadougou.
"About ten armed individuals on Thursday attacked a transport vehicle that was going from the village of Markoye in Burkina Faso to the market of Dolbel in Niger, the neighboring country. Two people were killed," a senior police officer told Xinhua.
A native from the area said three other passengers were injured and the aggressors set fire to the transport vehicle before they absconded.
Since 2015, Burkina Faso has been facing a spate of terrorist attacks on army and civilian positions, leading to casualties. Enditem
