WINDHOEK, April 22 (Xinhua) -- Namibia's President Hage Geingob on Thursday reshuffled his Cabinet by naming Home Affairs Minister Frans Kapofi as new Defense Minister, according to press statement from the Office of the President.

Geingob also reassigned Fisheries Minister Albert Kawana to lead the Home Affairs Ministry while Deputy Minister of Urban and Rural Development Derek Klazen was named new Fisheries Minister.

Former SWAPO Party Youth League leader and parliamentarian Heather Sibungo was appointed Deputy Minister of Environment while former Home Affairs Deputy Minister Maureen Hinda-Mbuende was named as Deputy Minister of Finance.

The reshuffle comes after former Defense Minister Peter Vilho resigned following corruption allegations in early April. Enditem
