RABAT, July 20 (Xinhua) -- Moroccan King Mohammed VI granted pardons on Tuesday to 761 people on the occasion of the Eid al-Adha holiday, the Moroccan Justice Ministry said in a statement.

Eid al-Adha, or feast of sacrifice, is one of the most significant Islamic festivals of the year. Like several other Arab countries, Morocco has a tradition to grant pardons to prisoners on Eid al-Adha.

Most of the people on the pardon list get their imprisonment term reduced or completely canceled, while a handful of them have the fines reduced or annulled. Enditem
