YANGON, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Six people including a driver were killed with five others injured in a car accident in Myanmar's highway, according to a release from the Highway Police Office on Monday.
A truck carrying 13 passengers on board, travelling to Nay Pyi Taw from Mandalay crashed into the highway guardrails and overturned as the vehicle got a flat tire near the milepost 329 on the Yangon-Mandalay highway at 4:10 p.m. local time on Sunday.
The injured were brought to the Tada-U General Hospital for treatment.
The highway police force is urging people to follow the traffic laws and to cooperate with traffic police in carrying out road safety measures.
Human errors such as over speeding, negligent driving, drowsy driving and others such as defective vehicles and severe weather are mostly responsible for the deadly motor vehicle accidents on Myanmar's highway. Enditem
