ULAN BATOR, April 21 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia is willing to further strengthen economic cooperation with China amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the country's deputy prime minister Ulziisaikhan Enkhtuvshin said Tuesday.
Enkhtuvshin made the remarks when meeting with Chinese ambassador to Mongolia Chai Wenrui, according to the Mongolian government press office.
The deputy PM said the two countries need to further strengthen bilateral economic cooperation while COVID-19 is wreaking economic havoc across the world.
Mongolia is willing to increase its exports of mining products to China, said Enkhtuvshin, who also heads the State Emergency Commission.
Chai hailed Mongolia's efforts and measures taken to curb the COVID-19 pandemic and promised to consider the above-mentioned matters.
As of Tuesday, Mongolia has confirmed 34 COVID-19 infections, including four non-nationals.
Among all patients, eight people, including two foreign nationals, have recovered, according to Mongolia's National Center for Communicable Disease.
