Brunei reports new COVID-19 case, 203 cases in total

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, March 17 (Xinhua) -- Brunei reported one new confirmed case of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing its total tally to 203.

According to Brunei's Ministry of Health, the new case was a 43-year-old man who arrived from the Philippines on March 3.

Contact tracing has found no immediate contact for the new case and for the three additional cases reported Tuesday, as they have been quarantined upon arrival in the country. The newly reported case is being treated in the National Isolation Center along with 13 other active cases.

The new one case brought the country's total number of imported cases to 62 since the last local infection was reported on May 6 last year. Brunei has recorded 315 days without local COVID-19 cases.

There have been three deaths reported from COVID-19 so far in Brunei and a total of 186 patients have recovered. Enditem
