PHNOM PENH, March 30 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Hor Namhong on Tuesday called for greater international cooperation to overcome difficulties during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Namhong said in a message to the media that as COVID-19 has been affecting the whole world severely, international cooperation is crucial to prevailing over the pandemic and rebuilding economies and societies in the post-pandemic era.

The deputy prime minister criticized some developed countries for interfering in the internal affairs of other countries under the pretext of democracy and human rights, adding that "no one would benefit" from their action.

He said the international community should learn the lessons of the Cold War and needs a peaceful world with globalization and multilateralism in order to boost socio-economic development and alleviate poverty.

The deputy prime minister added that cooperation, trade and investment among countries would be the best choice to bring about benefits for all. Enditem
