SARAJEVO, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- 2018 Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series gathered the world's top professional divers on Saturday to Mostar, a city located some 130 kilometers southwest of Bosnia and Herzegovina's (BiH) capital Sarajevo.

From the Old Bridge, the UNESCO monument, the best male divers jumped from the 27 meters high diving platform attached to the bridge, while the women divers jumped from the 21 meters high platform.

In the men's competition, Gary Hunt from the United Kingdom won the first place, followed by Czech Michal Navratil and Romanian Catalin Preda.

"I am happy, I managed to repeat the victory at the Old Bridge, which no one else has managed to do before," six- times world champion Gary Hunt said after the competition.

In the women's contest, the victory was taken by Mexican Adriana Jimenez, followed by Australian Rhiannan Iffland and British Jessica Macaulay.

"I am delighted to win in front of this wonderful audience in this magical city. Yesterday I said that Mostar is even more beautiful than last year, but today, that is even exceeded, " Jimenez said after winning the trophy.

The World Series, established in 2009, is an annual international series of cliff diving events. The competition consists of dives of different degrees of difficulty and points are given by five high-diving judges.
