BUDAPEST, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced on Wednesday that Hungary has confirmed its first two cases of COVID-19 infection, Hungarian news agency MTI reported.
The two are Iranian students, who have been admitted to the St Laszlo Hospital in Budapest but in good conditions so far, according to the prime minister.
"The novel coronavirus has arrived in Hungary," Orban said, adding that Hungary had now entered the phase of defending against the outbreak.
From now on, the relevant authorities will meet every day at noon before briefing the press on the latest information concerning the novel coronavirus.
Hungary had enough medical staff, necessary tools and legislative framework to defend against the virus, according to Orban.
