The Water Gardens of Annevoie were designed and built by Charles-Alexis de Montpellier in the 18th century, with the combination of three ideas: "art enhancing nature", "art in tune with nature" and "art imitating nature". In 1930 the Gardens were opened for the general public. In 1982, the entire estate, including the gardens and the buildings, were listed as Historical Monuments. (Xinhua/Zheng Huansong)
