LOS ANGELES, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- An expo of all kinds of reptiles was held in Los Angeles from Saturday to Sunday.

The Pomona Fairplex in Los Angeles County was filled with different kinds of snakes, turtles, lizards, and chameleons, attracting thousands of reptile enthusiasts during the hot summer weekend.

By exploring in the 100,000 square feet Fairplex, visitors can learn about reptiles directly from reputable breeders and retailers and interact with animals as the reptile super show has more than 100 vendors.

Mario Urrutia, a reptile breeder, brings his tegus to the event for the first time.

"We have blue tegus, red tegus here, and they eat brown turkey, rats, and chicken," said Urrutia while holding a two-year-old female tegu.

Among all the animals, snake seems to be the most popular.

Lawrence Bledsaw, who already has five snakes at home, introduced a super pastel pin fire he just bought: "this one can grow to five to six feet, it's probably three or four years old right now, depending on how often it was fed."

Bledsaw has visited many similar shows in the country, "it's always fun to come to a reptile show and see all the animals," he said.

According to the official website, next year's reptile super show will be held in July in San Diego, California.
