BEIJING, April 23 (Xinhua) -- Mongolian President Khaltmaa Battulga will pay a state visit to China and attend the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation from April 24 to 28 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The following is a brief profile of the president.
Battulga was born in March 1963. He graduated from the Mongolian School of Fine Arts, where he studied painting.
He was elected as a member of the State Great Khural (parliament) three times, namely in 2004, 2008 and 2012.
Battulga served as Minister for Road, Transportation, Construction and Urban Development from 2008 to 2012, and as Minister for Industry and Agriculture from 2012 to 2014.
He was elected president in July 2017.
