Potter Chen Mei carves on a pottery at her workshop in Qinzhou City of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, April 28, 2017. Nixing pottery is a craft with a history of more than 1,300 years. The style relies on a unique local clay and the colors of the pots emerge without the addition of any pigment. In 2010, Chen Mei, a renowned female potter, started her own Nixing pottery workshop in Qinzhou City and worked with other craftsmen to ensure the time-honored skill is not lost.
