KABUL, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Afghan security forces waged several military operations and killed 23 armed militants across the country within the last 24 hours, the country's Interior Ministry said on Saturday.
"The operations were conducted in Faryab, Badakhshan, Kunduz and Helmand provinces. And nine militants were also wounded and two others were arrested by Afghan National Defense and Security Forces," the ministry said in a statement.
The security forces also found and seized weapons, the statement said, without adding if there were any casualties on the side of security forces.
Taliban insurgent group, which has been waging an insurgency of more than one decade, has yet to make comments.
