"Liqiu", the 13th of the 24 solar terms in the Chinese Lunar Calendar, falls on August 7 this year, marking the withdrawal of summer and the beginning of autumn. Since then, as weather tends to cool down and autumn crops come into their crucial growing stage, the season of harvest arrives in many parts of China. Diligent Chinese farmers are busy farming and harvesting after Liqiu, creating splendid autumn scenes in the countryside.
