VIENTIANE, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese embassy in Laos held a farewell party on Thursday for Lao students who were awarded the Chinese government's scholarship for 2017-2018 school year.
Chinese Ambassador to Laos Wang Wentian spoke highly of the important role of the Chinese government scholarships in education cooperation between China and Laos.
The ambassador told the students leaving for China to study hard to become ambassadors of bilateral friendly exchanges, contributing to the traditional friendship between the two countries.
Lao Deputy Minister of Education and Sports Boulan Silipanya expressed his gratitude to the Chinese government for the support in education sectors and personnel training.
He called on Lao students to abide by local legal regulations and to study hard.
At the ceremony, the Chinese ambassador also presented letter of acceptance to the Lao students.
