Facing challenges head-on; new energy vehicles are the new trend
Speaking of the topics of interest for this year's "Two Sessions", taxi drivers invariably mentioned online taxi booking and new energy vehicles (NEVs).
Zhao Qingwan feels that while online taxi booking is convenient for passengers and drivers alike, it is also spreading shockwaves throughout the taxi industry. Some problems need to be solved urgently and it is important to face these challenges head-on. Some drivers think that there is a complementary relationship between online cab booking and street-hailed taxi service. Indeed, there is a clear distinction between these two groups of passengers.

"New energy vehicles" is one of the highlights of this year's "Two Sessions". Because of environmental and other reasons, taxi drivers generally believe that the development of new energy vehicles is a major trend. However, there are still several issues to be addressed, including the high cost of batteries, long charging times, inadequate range, and the risk of "secondary pollution" due to the ineffective recovery of batteries, and lack of available charging stations. The drivers who were interviewed believe that if these issues can be resolved effectively, the new energy vehicle market is destined to grow and flourish.
