DHAKA, July 24 (Xinhua) -- Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Bangladesh capital Dhaka resumed flight operations on Tuesday after about two-hour shutdown caused by an accident involving an Thai Airways plane.
GM Alamgir, an information official of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), told Xinhua that the airport resumes operations for departure and arrival flights at about 2:00 p.m. local time.
All flight operations were suspended at the airport after the Thai Airways flight from Bangkok suffered "multiple tyre bursts" while landing on the runway at about 12:20 p.m. local time.
The plane, with 145 people on board, was stuck on the runway.
"At least four of its tyres burst as the Thai Airways Flight TG321 had made an emergency landing,"an airport official said.
No casualties were reported due to the mishap.
TV footage showed passengers were gripped by panic.
