PHNOM PENH, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia exported 100,534 tons of dry rubber in the first seven months of 2018, up 20 percent over the same period last year, according to a General Directorate of Rubber report on Saturday.

The Southeast Asian country earned the gross revenue of 142 million U.S. dollars from the export during the January-July period, down 1.5 percent over the same period last year, the report said.

"A ton of dry rubber averagely cost 1,412 U.S. dollars in the first seven months of 2018, about 305 U.S. dollars lower than that of the first seven months of 2017," it said.

Cambodia exports the commodity mainly to Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore and China.

According to the report, the country has 436,299 hectares of rubber plantations in which 173,017 hectares are old enough to be harvested.
