THE HAGUE, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- A man drove his car into the town hall in the city of Bemmel, Netherlands, on Wednesday morning, causing a blaze and killing himself, local police said.
The incident occurred at around 2:00 local time (0000 GMT). The car hit the entrance of the building and caused a fire, which was shortly brought under control. There were no other casualties.
Police said the car carried two gas canisters, one of which exploded.
The damaged town hall will remain closed for at least one day.
