SINGAPORE, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean stocks closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going down 0.11 percent or 3.63 points to close at 3,243.92.
A total of 1.28 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 817.1 million Singapore dollars (about 598.17 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 189 to 177.
The STI index closed up 0.68 percent or 21.93 points to close at 3,247.55 Tuesday.
