BANGKOK, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Thai police seized more than 400 kilograms of marijuana in southern Thailand's Songkla on Wednesday.

Narcotic police raided an abandoned furniture warehouse and found the compressed marijuana on Wednesday morning. Two suspects were detained.

The haul worth of four million baht (about 120,000 U.S. dollars) is to be distributed into three border provinces in the deep south.

Police turned their sights on the warehouse after receiving tip-offs from residents nearby. They said someone got electric shock when trying to enter the warehouse to collect zinc.

Police busted the suspects when they tried to transfer the weed. They found the warehouse had been outfitted with an electric wall to keep strangers off.

Drug dealings and smuggling are rampant in porous Thailand-Malaysia borders. The two countries have been enhancing cooperation to prevent cross-border drug smuggling activities.
