Belarusian FM meets with new U.S. charge d'affaires to Belarus

MINSK, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei met with the new charge d'affaires of the United States to Belarus, Jenifer Moore, the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.

The Belarusian official met with Jenifer Moore on the occasion of the beginning of her diplomatic mission in Belarus.

They discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Belarusian-U.S. relations, the press service said.

Jenifer Moore arrived in Minsk on Aug. 17 to work as new U.S. charge d'affaires to Belarus.

Belarus has no U.S. ambassador since 2008. The sides mutually reduced staff of their embassies to five people in 2008 after the United States had imposed economic sanctions on Belarus.
