MEXICO CITY, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- Mexican financial analysts have raised their 2018 inflation forecast and reduced their GDP growth estimates, said the Central Bank of Mexico (Banxico) on Monday.

Mexican inflation could now close this year at a rate of 4.47 percent, slightly higher than the 4.25 percent Banxico analysts estimated a month ago.

Experts also slightly raised next year's forecast, up to 3.68 percent from 3.60 percent following calculations made by 34 groups of national and international economic analysts.

The national bank currently has an inflation aim of 3.0 percent.

The country's GDP growth forecast for 2018 was also cut from 2.28 percent to 2.10 percent, while 2019's estimated GDP growth was raised from 2 percent to 2.10 percent, according to Banxico.

Peso-dollar conversion estimates also saw a small improvement, down to 18.90 pesos per dollar for the end of the year, from the 19 pesos per dollar estimated earlier.

According to analysts, concerns about public safety is the principal obstacle to growth over the next six months.

Uncertainty surrounding the new NAFTA deal and the changing of governments on December 1 have also caused worries, said Banxico.
