HANOI, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- As more than 23 million students in Vietnam started a new academic year on Wednesday, the education sector plans to take steps to improve the quality of education at all levels, Vietnam News Agency reported on Wednesday.

In the 2018-2019 academic year, the education sector will focus on developing pre-schools at industrial parks and export-processing zones, while finalizing preparations for the launching of new education program and textbook, especially for first-grade students.

The sector will take steps to continue enhancing the quality of the national high-school examination, while reforming the management mechanisms at high schools.

At the same time, tertiary education will concentrate on standardizing the quality of students to meet the requirement of the fourth industrial revolution.

The efficiency of community-based education facilities as well as vocational training centers will also be improved.

The sector will work to complete targets in a bid to build a learning society, the agency reported.
