PHNOM PENH, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian People's Party (CPP) Honorary President Samdech Heng Samrin was re-elected as the president of the National Assembly for another five-year term after the CPP won a landslide victory in a July general election.

All the 125 CPP lawmakers unanimously elected him as the president during the first parliamentary session. They also voted for CPP lawmakers Nguon Nhel and Khuon Sodary as the first vice president and the second vice president, respectively.

Besides, the parliament elected chairpersons and vice chairpersons of the 10 commissions in the legislative body.

Speaking after the vote, Samrin said, "I am very happy that I was re-elected as the president of the National Assembly in the sixth legislature. I would like to extend my profound thanks to all the members of parliament for voting for me as well as my two deputies."

The parliament's leadership reshuffle came after the sixth general election on July 29 that saw Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen's CPP won all 125 seats in the National Assembly.
