Cypriots among top group of EU nationals with longest life expectancy

NICOSIA, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Cypriots are among the top group of EU nationals with the longest life expectancy, which has increase by about three years between 2007 and 2016, data released by Eurostat, EU's statistical service, showed on Tuesday.

Eurostat said Cypriot men rank fourth and can expect to live 80.5 years and Cypriot women fifth, with 84.9 years of life expectancy.

Life expectancy for both men and women in Cyprus is an average of 82.7 years, 1.7 years above the EU's average of 81.0 years.

Spanish women rank first in life expectancy with 86.3 years, followed by French women with 85.7 years.

For men, Italians are expected to live 81 years, followed by Swedish men and Maltese with a life expectancy of 80.6 years and Spanish and Cypriots with 80.5 years.
