JALALABAD, Afghanistan, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Police have arrested seven suspected weapon smugglers in the eastern Nangarhar province, a Border Police Official Mohammad Ayub Hussain Khil said Monday.

"We arrested seven weapon smugglers in Dur Baba district today morning and discovered light weapons including Kalashnikovs and spare parts including magazines and bullets," Hussain Khil told Xinhua.

The arrested persons were taking the weapons to anti-government militants, the official said, adding investigation has been initiated into the case to find more members of the smuggling team.
