TRIPOLI, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- Libyan security forces have found a mass grave near the city of Sirte containing 110 bodies, local media reported on Saturday.

According to al-Wasat news website, the bodies were buried two years ago, and cell phones and cash were also found buried with the bodies.

On Tuesday, a mass grave containing 75 bodies was found west of Sirte, according to a military source.

Another grave containing 40 bodies was also found in Sirte on Thursday, the Libyan Red Crescent Society said.

The coastal city of Sirte, located some 450 km east of the capital Tripoli, had witnessed months of fighting between forces allied with the UN-backed government and the Islamic State militants, which ended in December 2015 with the government forces taking over the city.
