JAKARTA, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian authorities on Wednesday released Renae Lawrence, a member of drug trafficking group "Bali Nine" from a prison.

Indonesian authorities also banned her from entering the Indonesian territory for life.

Renae Lawrence, a 41-year old Australian, had served more than 13 years for drug trafficking in Indonesia's Bangli Prison. She is to be deported to Australia.

She will surely be entitled to an immigration sanction: a ban from entering the Indonesian territory for good, Head of Bali immigration department Agato Simamora said on Wednesday.

Lawrence, released from Bangli prison on Wednesday evening, was escorted by Indonesian police as well as immigration and security personnel to Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport.

She was placed in an immigration detention cell in the airport before boarding a plane.

Lawrence was arrested with 2.7 kilograms of heroin strapped in her body while attempting to bring the contraband to Australia at the Bali airport in 2005.

That amount of heroin was part of the plot by "Bali Nine" to smuggle 8.2 kilograms of the drug from Bali to Australia.

She was initially handed a life term but her sentence was later reduced to 20 years, and then further cut due to good behaviour in prison.

Lawrence is the first and the only one of the "Bali Nine" group to be freed. The group has a total of nine Australians.
