TOKYO, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened higher Tuesday as investor sentiment was bolstered by Wall Street posting gains overnight, coupled by a solid performance on European bourses.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 96.59 points, or 0.44 percent, from Monday to 21,908.59.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 8.71 points, or 0.53 percent, at 1,640.91.
Marine transportation, nonferrous metal, and oil and coal product-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
