TOKYO, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks edged higher on Tuesday morning on Wall Street's solid overnight lead but gains were trimmed.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 31.37 points, or 0.14 percent, from Monday to 21,843.37.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 5.16 points, or 0.32 percent, at 1,637.36.
Marine transportation, mining and insurance-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
